It was great to see friends I haven't seen in a while.

PinkPaw picked up a combined 27 points, encompassing 7 majors.
To say it was a productive show circuit is an understatement.
Aurora earned two BOS, one BOV completing a good portion of her grand title her first show weekend out since finishing her champion title, two 3 pt majors, and a 5 pt major all with CH defeats. I pulled her Sunday.

Leo was select dog all four days for the 10 remaining points he needed for his grand title.
CH defeats all four days.
Miss Dee on her second and third shows earned the two majors towards her champion title.
She is a blast to show. Hope she keeps this attitude.
Misty Meadow's Carnival in Venice showed great. As did her sister.
Dot was pulled on Sunday due to a pooh-mishap. Anice brown streak down the middle of her forehead. lol
​A bath was NOT on the schedule Sunday morning!

NEW BRED-BY CHAMPION, PinkPaw Goddess of the Dawn shown Saturday only went BOV from the bred-by class over a special for her remaining major needed to finish her CH title.
PinkPaw No Denying made her official AKC show debut on Friday going BOV for her first point Not entered on Saturday.
Misty Meadow's Carnival in Venice was entered both Friday & Saturday. A bridesmaid these shows.

Land O Lakes & Northstar Toy Shows

​Ok! Floated down from cloud nine to recap our most recent show circuit in St Paul, Minnesota at the Land O Lakes & NorthStar Toy KC’s shows. Five shows in three days. We entered four of these shows.
I had three bred-by PinkPaw Chihuahuas (Aurora, Leo & Dee) entered along with my two most recent Misty Meadow’s sisters, Venice & Dot. Grateful to those willing to help with handling. Meg Schaaf, Hailey Sorensen (Katelyn) lol, Terri Porthan I couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you!
PinkPaw The Lion’s Share, Leo earned his AKC CH title at the first LOL show going BOV from the “bred-by-puppy class. He also earned BBY & BOBOH. At the NST show Friday he was WD, BOW, BOH, BBY. I moved him up to Best of Variety the final two shows. Leo was BOV both shows for two 4 pt majors and two CH defeats. He took home 11points total.
PinkPaw Goddess of The Dawn, Aurora competed against my girl, Misty Meadow’s Carnival in Venice in class and a CH male. Tough finding sc entries. Aurora was WB, BOV, BOHG3, BBYG2 for a point in the LOL show. In the NST show she was WB, BOV, BOH, BBY. Aurora showed in an exhausting SIX groups on Friday. She showed her heart out!!!! I was so proud of her! SA & SU she was WB, BOS for two more points.
Misty Meadow’s Carnival in Venice was reserve all four shows.
Misty Meadow’s Masquerade Parti, Dotty was WB both shows Friday. Reserve on Saturday. WB Sunday. Earning a total of 3 points.
PinkPaw No Denying, Dee was entered in the three 4-6 Beginner Puppy shows. Friday she was BOS. There were four Chihuahua puppies entered. Saturday Miss Dee was BPIS, defeating 35 puppies. Sunday she was dumped even though she showed like a pro!
However! Her litter mate sister, PinkPaw No Limit, Betty was BOS!!! Judges for the 4-6 puppy shows were: FR-Mr John R Dewing, SA-Mr James A Fehring, SU-Ms Linn Klingel-Brown.
PinkPaw took home a combined 18 points. Very proud of my pack.

Great show weekend in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
PinkPaw brought home a combined total of 12 points!
Aurora earns her first major (5 pt) going BOV over several specials. Reserve on Saturday..
Venice earned her first (3 pt) major on Saturday. Reserve on Sunday.
Leo earned his third (4 pt) major on Saturday. Now a single point away from his champion title.
Interesting conversation with the judge at the photo podium. He said to me, "I hope you understand. I like to spread things around." Referring to not awarding my long coat boy.... BUT he awarded the same OH for both WD & WB. Two Chihuahuas that wouldn't even move around the ring. So much so the judge asked us, (I was handling WB for the OH) "you two just stay there." Judge allowed the special to move around the ring and table. The WD & WB didn't have to move around the ring for BOW.
I believe it's crap like this that has caused OHs to give up on the sport.
​Sad, Sad event. At times it's not easy to be a "good sport".

Great time with my best friend Meg Schaaf in New York.
Amaretto went into the show ring well but fizzled second part... he couldn't take his nose off the carpet and I had to hard stack him which he didn't like. A bit frustrating. I still went home with the best dog!

His first show weekend was February 24-26 where he did well for his first time in a show environment. He picked up his first major. The following weekend we were at the same show venue for another three day show on the dirty dirt floor. Saturday, Amo was WD for a point. Sunday, he was WD, BOW, BOV over specials for a three point major PLUS a Group three win.

First place winner was literally dragged around the ring still winning the first place nod. She IS a very pretty bitch. Many came up to me afterwards saying I got robbed. Won't be the first time....I knew going into this show that friends of mine were good friends with Saturday's judge. I chose to leave Sunday before the longs showed hoping to avoid traffic coming home. LONG drive without traffic. Especially when you don't bring any points home. Ugh! lol

Grace showed beautifully all three days. She was third out of three on Friday. Then WB & BOS on Saturday and Sunday for her first points. Two points Saturday, one point Sunday. Tickled pink.
There were 6 sc bitches entered. Needing 7 for a three point major-bummer. Sunday one sc bitch was a no-show taking a point away.

All these judges were very good with Chihuahuas!

What a GREAT way to start off the new year! Drove 1275 miles to the frozen tundra of St. Paul Minnesota to be at one of my favorite dogs shows!
​PpC took home 14 points. Well worth the LONG drive!

Kari was BOV Friday & Saturday for 4 points majors each day. Waited for group both days but judges missed us in the line up...oh well. Kari could not have shown better! She was select bitch Sunday for a 3 points major.

I entered Gemma, Luna & Fergie on Saturday & Sunday. I can't thank my friends enough for helping me. It was a challenge to show four sc Chihuahua bitches. But we got it done without much trouble!

Gem is still getting the hang of the show ring and continues to make progress. She was second both days out of two.

Luna won her class each day against one other bitch. Then on Sunday was WB & BOW for her first points!  It was a three point major!

Fergie made her show debut Saturday winning Reserve to the major. She showed well for the first times in the ring.

I was pleasantly surprised on Sunday by my two youngest sons and their girlfriends at the show site at 8am! It was my birthday. They are pictured below in Luna's win picture. What a treat. Thank you Austen & Evan!


Kari sailed through her Grand Champion title with 5 five point majors and champion defeats with each major. She has certainly come into her own! She received two BOS wins & three select bitch wins, four of these wins were at Chihuahua Specialties!

What a week! Kari showed amazing for both shows.
At the regional show Kari made the cut competing against 14 other BOV bitches.
She didn't make it to the ribbon placement.
At the National show being judged by breeder judge Ms Lauren Payne Kari was awarded "select bitch" for her last 5 points needed to finish her grand CH title. She competed against 14 other BOV bitches.
Kari finished her Grand title earning 5 five point majors and easily getting the CH defeats needed for the Grand title. I'm so very proud of her. Kari has truly come into her own.

​Dazzles Streaking By Moonlight debuted at the National. Luna showed well in the 6-9 month puppy bitch class. But the judge didn't find her. Still proud of how she showed.

Luna & Rosa both won the breed competing with one other CHI puppy.
Rosa made the cut of 8-10 in Group. 
Both Luna & Rosa are promising show dogs. I look forward to the future with them. And Gem too.

Only a few absences due to the weather.
We had very nice entry numbers!

Judging the first show was Linda George (Queen of Chihuahuas).

Kari was my only entry. She earned select bitch for a 5 point major and CH defeat & AOM.
The Houston Toy Club shows were cancelled. Rightfully so.
Saturday morning I traveled to the show site and was surprised how badly the hotel was taking the rain.
There were windows broken. And water coming in at several locations in the hotel.
​Missouri City where we live received more than 50 inches of rain.

Thursday's & Sunday's judge put up a NOTICEABLY limping class dog for WD (5 point major) being shown by a handler from the open class of five entries. I take issue with this.

LONG drive 544 miles. LONG six days! Stayed five nights!
Kari did sweepstakes both days. Craig Eugene gave her second place at the regional earning a 34.00 check. She didn't place at all at the national under sweeps judge Ruth West. There were 8/10 bitches in sweeps.
Kari didn't place with Fred Bassett at the regional. She did place second at the nationals out of nine entries!
I was thrilled!

Zombie showed GREAT both days but didn't place.
Cayenne showed great both days. Didn't place at the regional.
​BUT made it to the finals at the nationals. CRAZY exciting! There were 66 BOV entries!

Christie was called away Saturday by her daughter going into labor three weeks early. Christie did make it home for the birth of their first grand son.
Zombie, Cayenne & Kari were entered all four days. Heavy competition!
Zombie finished her AKC CH title on Saturday with a three pt major. I was going to pull her Sunday however another pulled their bitch. If I pulled Z too it would have broken the 3 pt major. We showed to Mr Elliott B. Weiss who has Parkinson's disease I believe....no disrespect meant. His hands shook fairly bad.
Mr. Weiss withheld the first place ribbon for the 6-9 mo. puppy bitch class. Kari & another puppy bitch were terrified. Not walking around the ring. Honestly I have to agree with the judge for with holding...
I wasn't holding much faith in Zombie performing well.
She did WONDERFUL for this judge! Going WB, BOW & BOS for a 4 point major she didn't need.
BUT extremely grateful for having earned it!

Cayenne was reserve on Saturday & earned her first GCH point Sunday going "select bitch".

And I didn't know it until I checked the show results! How sad is that!? 
A friend took Dooku in for me while I handled Cayenne.
Dooku didn't place on Saturday, I pulled him for Sunday's show.
Cayenne blew me away earning two 4 point majors Friday & Saturday going WB & Best Bred-By from 9 total bitches entered. Beautiful wins!

The unexpected!
Cayenne has been in the ring twice now. Both times she's surprised me.
She prances around like a pro. 
Little Twerp took WB second time in the ring for her first point on Friday, one of one Saturday at the Dallas shows December 4 & 5 2015.
Zombie showed well winning second Friday, 
First Saturday both from the Bred-By Class.
Dooku won "select" dog Fri for a point but fell ill. After vet bills totaling $470 and Dooku not well enough to show Saturday.
 We decided to head home Saturday afternoon. 
Didn't show on Sunday.

We started our journey East on Thursday, May 21. With the unrealized time change our trip took us 10 hours. We were entered for Friday's show and Saturday/Sunday's Chihuahua Specialty shows.
Mikko won huge on Saturday taking WD & BOW for a 5 point major. Sunday was reserve to the major. Zombie took third both days in the BBE class. I was very happy.
Angelina made her debut in the 4-6 month puppy show. She was amazing. Angelina took first out of four lc Chihuahuas, then a group 2 for her first time in the ring. Very exciting!

Before entering the ring for the final Lewis noticed a dog from a far. It was as though he had found his long lost brother.... I wasn't sure what in the world took Lewis' interest by this dog. We entered the ring for the final. Max went along asking certain dogs to do a "down & back". Lewis' down was fine. His coming back not good. Max asked us to repeat it again. Lewis couldn't focus on nothing else but the veteran dog in the ring. I believe this is what lost a placement for Lewis. Oh well. I was very disappointed! After staring at this dog, trying to figure out what on earth Lewis was so fixed on this dog for. I noticed he looked very much like my Kixie who was in standing heat when we left. I think Lewis thought it was Kix...
Long, Long drive home. Left St. louis just after 4 pm. 517 miles in the fog and drizzle. Drove to Eagan, Minnesota to drop off Miss Samantha & her friend Anna. Then on to Eau Claire for another 98 miles arriving home at 3am. WE MADE IT!!!

These judges ARE exceptional with puppies!! Love them! I planned on NOT showing Mikko at these shows due to his recent bad experience with a judge. I wanted him to be in the show environment. But several people helped me through this. Going over Mikko while on the table. The judges were amazing! It probably helped me more than Mikko to get over our bad experience! Still have lots of work to do to get him through this. Will do. I think he's worth it....

Lewis didn't place Saturday. 
BUT Sunday, Lewis won Best of Variety (BOV) for a HUGE win against National TOP dogs/breeders and another 5 point major w/Champion defeats. Got nothing in Group...
Dooku placed fourth Saturday & Third Sunday. He showed GREAT against very tough competition! 
Penny placed third Saturday & Second Sunday with tough competition!
Miss Cora practiced with Christy Heiman (Professional Handler) for the Puppy Competition & placed third. See pictures of Cora below.

Lewis earned his GRAND Championship Title during the morning show with a 5 point major for Select Dog, 16 dogs.
Dooku took third place in the Bred-by class for the morning show & First for the afternoon show.
Penny took third in the morning show & fourth in the afternoon show.

We showed two days at this four day show. Lewis had two more BIG wins. 
BOV Friday 4 pt major & a CH defeat.   BOS Saturday 3 pt major. 
This should give him 22 points, w/3 CH defeats, 5 majors. Only 3 points to go!
Dooku showed GREAT both days! Taking Reserve Saturday w/9 dogs. 
Dooku also won Best Bred-By for a second time!
Penny also had a GREAT weekend. 
No points, but each time in the ring she gets better!  Yay!

Lewis completed his Championship Title in February at the IKC of Chicago shows.
At the Steel City KC show Lewis was awarded his first 3 point major towards his GCH by winning "Select" dog. 
 Lewis earned his Grand Championship Title in nine shows total. Taking me  by surprise! 
Lewis finished with 32 points, encompassing 7 majors made up of: 
four 5 point majors, one 4 point major, two 3 points majors & two single points.
 Owner handled exclusively!

HUGE Wins for CH Rsun King Lewis at Pp C! 
BOV both Saturday & Sunday winning over 15/16 smooth coat Chihuahuas including four specials (3 CH, 1 GCH) for TWO 5 point majors towards his Grand Championship with champion defeats.
Dooku took first in his class each day. Total of 22 long coats entered. No points.
Penny took second Saturday & first Sunday in her class. 19 smooth coats entered. No points.  We're VERY proud of their performances. They did very well in the sweltering heat!
